Little by little

Well, I think I'm getting the hang of this now. And even though I'm not posting regularly yet, I am starting to view the world in a different way. I'm taking more notice, getting the camera out more often and storing thoughts away in my head. I'm noticing the little things.

And I look forward to sharing more of those things as time goes by. I also look forward to my blog becoming some kind of journal or diary that I hope my boys will be able to appreciate as I share some of them here, as I see other blogging mothers do. What a wonderful record of them as they grow. So much more than a photo album. Isn't technology fantastic.

So, I'd like to introduce them to you - please meet my two lovely boys, Zak and Finn. They will be 5 and 3, respectively, in October. I know other mums give their children nicknames online and I'd welcome anyone's point of view as to why you prefer to write about your little (or not so little) ones this way. I'm not sure that anyone could work out where exactly we live from my blog so I'm not sure why the altered names are necessary. Please share if you have any thoughts on this.

Here is a little something from our moveable gallery (aka, the pavers out the back). It's getting rather full so we will have to have a hose down soon so that my little artists can start again...

Here's Zak's chalk man - he's only recently started to really get into making drawings of recognisable things, previously always preferring to draw in the abstract or have me draw something for him. So I love this one... and the lovely foot.

Then there's Finn's chalk house. There's such beauty in simplicity....

Then a butterfly for Mummy from Zak....

Lovely boys.

Hi Angela, thanks for linking to my blog in your sidebar!

Re using children's names and pictures, you might like to read this post. It's food for thought. And it made me think twice ...

Good luck with your blog!
